The JVC Jazz Festivals are produced by Festival Network. Founded by impresario George Wein, Festival Network has been producing music events for over 45 years. Mr. Wein originated outdoor music festivals in 1954 with the Newport Jazz Festival, which continues today as JVC Jazz Festival-Newport, R.I. Since then, the company has produced festivals all over the world, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival; the JVC Jazz Festivals in New York, Newport plus seven other cities; the Newport Jazz Festival in Madarao, Japan; the Playboy Jazz Festivals at the Hollywood Bowl; the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans; The Dunkin' Donuts Newport Folk Festival; the Verizon Music Festival in New York, Tampa Bay, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles; and many others.
